Taiping - A Historic Town

While on the journey home from a Penang vacation in early June, my family and I stopped at Taiping, a historic town in Perak. Our plan was to visit The Taiping Zoo especially for my youngest son, Fahim. When we reached in Taiping I could not help myself from snapping some historic, old and enchanting buildings. Chelsea Datang ke Malaysia

Pemain-pemain Chelsea telah tiba di Malaysia semalam. Ya! ini cerita benar. Pasukan Chelsea akan menentang pasukan Malaysia malam esok. Aku tak tahu apa perasaanku sebenarnya. Gembira ada. Sedih pun ada hehehe ..

Sebenarnya aku meminati pasukan Chelsea di antara faktor utamanya ialah kerana Jose Maurinho. Aku kagum dengan kehebatannya sebagai seorang pengurus. Tambahan pula beliau memiliki karekter yang menarik. Taktik dan strateginya hebat dan menyengat. Analisa permainanan pasukan lawan bagus.

Tetapi semenjak ketiadaannya, minatku terhadap Chelsea agak berkurangan walaupun masih ramai lagi pemain-pemainnya yang aku minati terutamanya Didier Drogba. Walau bagaimanapun aku masih peminat Chelsea. Sekurang-kurangnya Luis Felipe Scolari merupakan di antara 'coach' yang aku minati.

Exciting Discovery at Penang Tropical Fruits Farm

During my recent visit to Penang Tropical Fruits Farm, I encountered the following exciting discovery.



The first one is pineapple. It is very common right? But these ones are not. Look at their sizes. Small but very cute. I had not seen like these before. Have you?

The following fruit is also very unique. One of the farm's guides told me that in Malay it is called Buah Lembah. It is a magical fruit the guide told me. I was lucky enough to taste it. The magic is whatever fruit I eat after that even the sour one or water would turn sweet. True enough, the mineral water that I drank after I was given to taste the fruit taste sweet.

The last wonderful fruit that I saw is a banana. But it is not Pisang Berangan or Pisang Awak or Pisang Abu. The guide did mention its type but I forgot now. :)- Someone who knows what pisang is it, please let me know.







Seeing all the above unique and magical fruits has deepened my faith to the Mighty Allah. I hope all my muslim friends and readers will feel the same. Allahu Akbar!

Family Vacation To Penang

Me and my family have just arrived home from a vacation to Penang. We left home on Wednesday morning at around 9 am. We stopped to have our lunch at Sungai Perak R&R. At around two, we arrived at Bukit Mertajam and checked in at the Bukit Mertajam Summit Hotel. I booked and chose the hotel because it is a family type and the price is very reasonable.

After resting a while we started our first visit. We planned to go to the Fisheries Aquarium located at Batu Maung. Unfortunately, it was closed since. Then we went to the War Museum which is located not far from the Aquarium. Actually, it was not in our plan. It turned out to be memorable and fun since we could experience, learn and see lots of the past and history especially during the war of World War II i.e. the Japanese invasion.

The most memorable act that we all did was climbing up the escape tunnel to the top. Even Fahim, my youngest six-year-old son could do it. Besides that the communication tools during that era really fascinated me.

Chelsea in the Euro Cup Final

Tidak sabar rasanya hendak menunggu perlawanan akhir Euro di antara Chelsea dan MU yang akan berlansung di Moscow sebentar lagi. Mengingatkan Moscow, aku terkenang ketika aku berada di sana selama 10 hari beberapa tahun yang lalu. Aku memang tertawan dan tertarik dengan Moscow.

Di antara keunikannya ialah stesen-stesen keretapi yang cantik dan menarik. Jika ada peluang lagi, sudah pasti aku akan pergi lagi ke Moscow. Tetapi kali ini seboleh mungkin aku akan mencari peluang untuk menyertai pertandingan catur yang Rusia memang terkenal kerananya.

Tetapi di antara kisah yang tidak dapat aku lupakan ialah ketika cuba makan roti mereka. Sungguh keras dan sukar untuk tekak aku menelannya. Apa lagi asyik pekena "fish burger" McD aje lah. Sampaikan beli sekali untuk makan malam dek kerana malas nak keluar dari hotel ke McD tersebut.


Selain itu masihku ingat di mana aku terbeli udang yang harganya mencecah RM 100 yang tidak sampai pun setengah kilo. Ini kes tersalah congakan pertukaran wang lah. Aku membeli udang tersebut kerana setelah beberapa hari tinggal di hotel, aku mencari apartment yang ada kelengkapan memasak. Tujuannya ialah agar aku dapat masak untuk menjimatkan ongkos yang bisa digunakan untuk berjalan-jalan.
